This briefing graphically illustrates the progress made to date in the region, where 19 of the 28 European Union member states have enacted legislation prohibiting corporal punishment of children in all settings, including the home. It also sets out what needs to be done in the nine member states that have yet to achieve law reform. Designed as a tool for advocacy, it identifies immediate opportunities for drafting and introducing prohibiting legislation in these states.
The briefing was launched at the 9th European Forum on the Rights of the Child, June 2015.
