Committee on the Rights of the Child issues recommendations to Albania, Andorra, Dominican Republic, Kyrgyzstan and Togo

At its 94th session in September 2023, the Committee on the Rights of the Child issued recommendations and observations on the prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment of children to Albania, Andorra, Dominican Republic, Kyrgyzstan and Togo.

Note:

Togo, Albania and Andorra have achieved full prohibition of corporal punishment, respectively in 2007, 2010 and 2014. To Togo and Albania, the Committee on the Rights of the Child recommended that both States fully implement their legislations prohibiting corporal punishment and conduct awareness raising campaigns to promote positive parenting and attitudinal change. The Committee recommended that Andorra conduct a study to assess the prevalence and causes of corporal punishment.
