“The Committee is also concerned that corporal punishment is not yet prohibited in all settings (arts 2, 7, 16 and 24).

“… The State party should take practical steps, including through legislative measures, where appropriate, to put an end to corporal punishment in all settings.”

“The Committee welcomes the following legislative and institutional measures taken by the State party: (a) The 2017 amendment to the Law on the Fundamentals of Protection of the Rights of the Child 1996, prohibiting corporal punishment in all settings, including the home.”
